Biography
Originally from Pennsylvania, Julianne Brett earned her Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies from Penn State University, followed by a post-baccalaureate program at West Chester University, through which she obtained certification in elementary education. After relocating to Arizona in December 2008, she joined Grand Canyon University, where she has since cultivated a distinguished career in higher education. During her time at GCU, Julianne completed a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Reading. She has held several positions within the University and College of Education, including Academic Counselor, Clinical Practice Specialist, and Unit Effectiveness Project Manager. In her current role as the College's Executive Director of Clinical Practice, she collaborates with internal departments and relevant external parties to ensure candidates engage in high-quality, meaningful field experiences that support their professional growth and readiness. Julianne's dedication to excellence in education has been recognized through multiple honors, including the 2021 College of Education's Outstanding Staff Award for Excellence in Learning, Leading, and Serving. Most recently, she was named the College's 2025 Staff Member of the Year, a distinction celebrating her exceptional contributions, leadership, and commitment to student success.
