Biography
I am passionate about connecting cutting-edge technology with meaningful, real-world learning experiences for students. My work focuses on bridging theory and practice through hands-on projects, particularly in areas like AI, embedded systems, and cybersecurity.
I serve as the advisor for the CET Canyon AI Research (CAIR) Club, where I mentor students working on projects such as autonomous vehicles and drone swarms. These experiences are designed to help students apply complex concepts in practical, collaborative environments that mirror industry challenges.
In addition to teaching, I contribute to the broader academic community through leadership roles, including serving as Vice President of PSEC and as the KEEN Lead for the College of Technology. In these roles, I work to integrate entrepreneurial mindset principles into the curriculum and ensure our programs remain relevant, rigorous, and aligned with industry needs.
I am also committed to continuous learning and regularly pursue professional certifications in areas such as networking, security, and embedded systems. This allows me to bring current, real-world knowledge into the classroom and better prepare students for careers in technology. Lopes Up!
