Biography
Vince Frazier, the engineering department’s “Walking Wikipedia, ” is a lifelong learner with a varied background in mathematics, chemistry, physics, materials science, and mechanical engineering. Vince first earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Physics from Athens State University (with an unofficial Bachelor of Science in Mathematics). Next, Vince earned Master of Science degrees in Mathematics and Chemistry at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (with an unofficial Master of Science degree in Materials science.). Then, he went into Mechanical Engineering and began studying Missile Systems Engineering at the University of Alabama – Huntsville where he focused on Aerodynamics and Propulsion. In his 20th year of teaching others, Vince teaches practically around the clock as an assistant professor at Grand Canyon University. Additionally, Vince is the faculty advisor for the Society of Automotive Engineering. As an instructor grounded in mathematics and science, Vince teaches a variety of courses throughout the engineering curricula and is helping develop the transport phenomena, solid mechanics and materials engineering courses. Originally from Alabama, Vince is known for his love of cars and is constantly teaching his students about cars, how to take care of them, and how to take them apart and add things to them. Also, having trained dogs for the police department in a previous role, Frazier is an avid dog lover with two miniature pinschers and a Bassett hound.
