Joy Clady, Ph.D., CFP®, received her Ph.D. in Personal Financial Planning from Kansas State University and holds an MBA in Finance and Supply Chain Management from Michigan State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Illinois. She teaches finance and investments courses and is developing new personal financial planning curricula for the new GCU degree in Finance with an Emphasis in Financial Planning, which has been approved as a CFP Board Registered Program. After working in corporate finance, Dr. Clady turned her attention to the world of personal finance, completing the Executive Certificate in Financial Planning through Georgetown University’s Center for Continuing and Professional Education and providing financial education and counseling at military bases both stateside and abroad. While in the Midwest, she worked as a personal financial planner, helping individuals and families to plan and achieve their financial goals. Dr. Clady has spoken at national conferences of organizations for financial professionals and educators such as FPA, AFCPE, and ACCI. Her work has been published in the Journal of Financial Counseling and Planning and the Journal of Consumer Affairs.
