Biography
Dr. Valerie J. De La Torre was born in Los Angeles, Ca. and raised in the small mining town of Miami, Az. She is a Grand Canyon College alumna, having graduated with a Music Ed degree with a minor in English. She also completed her Master of Divinity at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, Ca. and earned a Doctorate in Formational Counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary in Ohio. Her ministry interests focus on emotional and spiritual well-being, spiritual formation, and pastoral counseling.

Research Interests
  • Neuroscience and psychology have brought to light much-needed information related to treating emotional trauma. Recent contributions have assisted the field of counseling greatly. All this has provided sound confirmation of biblical foundations for healthy relationships that provide safety, compassion, and empathy when it comes to spiritual formation and character growth. However, these applications also support the ministry of inner healing with is part of this process. Christian believers can benefit from these realizations that the Bible addresses in full, as we better understand the importance of our holistic relationship with the living God.
