Dr. Emily Pottinger is the associate dean for the College of Education and works closely in areas related to field experience, certification, etc. She has over 18 years of experience in K-12 education and higher education and has worked in a local Arizona elementary public school district just a few miles away from GCU’s campus prior to her time at GCU. She also co-founded and co-hosts GCU’s podcast for educators, “Top of the Class.” In addition, she continues to research, present and publish scholarly work in a variety of areas in education on national and international platforms and has been recognized for her contributions to the field, earning awards such as Grand Canyon University’s Distinguished Faculty Scholar and EDUCAUSE Scholar in honor of Diane P. Balestri.
