2015 has been a spectacular year for Grand Canyon University! From welcoming the largest freshman class yet and launching new programs in the science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields to expanding our campus by adding new classroom buildings and residence halls, there was never a dull moment for GCU this year.

In addition, GCU opened the GCU Hotel and GCU Golf Course in 2015. The hotel provides a place for parents and family members to stay while visiting their student, and it also serves as a learning environment for students enrolled in GCU’s new hospitality management program. The golf course is home to the Antelopes men’s and women’s NCAA Division I golf teams, and provides a place for students enrolled in the golf management program to work and gain hands-on experience.

Along with GCU’s success as a whole, 2015 was the first full year for the university’s blogs. The College of Theology and Spiritual Life blogs were the first to launch in January of this year. GCU now has seven different blogs, each one highlighting different colleges and departments at the university.

Living Faith and Rooted, presented by the College of Theology and Spiritual Life, respectively, reflect on GCU’s Trending Faith videos by Dean of the College of Theology Jason Hiles, PhD, and GCU Campus Pastor and Dean of Students Tim Griffin. The College of Theology’s blog also has theological and spiritual posts from faculty and insights into current events. Spiritual Life’s blog offers reflections on Chapel and weekly devotionals.

The College of Education blog, Teaching in Purple, discusses different topics each month pertaining to learning, leading and serving in the field of education. This blog features posts about growing character in children, servant leadership and teaching and instruction, just to name a few.

Letters, Numbers, Minds and Voices, presented by the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, highlights interesting topics in various fields, such as communication, counseling and psychology, and criminal justice.

The Colangelo College of Business blog, which launched this past summer, offers readers posts about topics in the business world, such as sports business, accounting for business and entrepreneurial dreams.

The College of Doctoral Studies and College of Nursing and Health Care Professions blogs are the newest to the GCU Blogs. The Doctoral Journey blog provides readers with knowledgeable posts about the doctoral process, dissertation tips and posts from doctoral faculty. Health and Wellness with Purpose contains posts about current health care topics, health care trends and alumni and faculty posts.

The GCU Blogs would like to thank both the contributors and readers who have helped the blogs to become a success this year. We look forward to creating new and exciting content for readers in the upcoming year and watching Grand Canyon University continue to grow and make an impact in the local and global community.

Have a blessed new year, and we will see you in 2016!
