Happy New Year from GCU Blogs!

"Happy New Year" sign hung up in front of lights By Lauren Abraham Posted on January 01, 2017  in  [ GCU Experience ]

This year has been an incredible year for Grand Canyon University. The university continues to grow and find success every year, and 2016 was no exception. From welcoming new students to launching new degree programs to expanding our campus, it has been a busy year!

In August, GCU welcomed the largest freshman class yet. It has been exciting to watch the student body grow and come together to form a Christian community on campus. In order to accommodate the growing number of students, GCU expanded its campus in new and exciting ways! Thanks to the new classroom buildings, housing options and a brand-new soccer stadium, GCU’s unique atmosphere provides a great place for students to pursue a college education.

GCU also introduced a variety of new degree programs this past year. These new programs provide students with many different options when it comes to preparing for their future. For example, Grand Canyon Theological Seminary, which is home to our Master of Divinity (MDiv) and Master of Arts (MA) theology programs, was launched in 2016.

In addition to the university’s success as a whole, the GCU Blogs Network has continued to grow! In 2016, BrainSTEM, presented by the College of Science, Engineering and Technology, was launched. This blog features posts from GCU students, staff and faculty about GCU’s STEM programs, current events, helpful resources relating to STEM fields and much more.

GCU’s other blogs have also had a successful year. BusinessBuzz, presented by the Colangelo College of Business, gives readers the opportunity to learn about the modern business landscape, and how business today continues to evolve to meet the needs of organizations and 21st century consumers.

For those interested in earning a doctoral degree, The Doctoral Journey is presented by the College of Doctoral Studies, and offers posts regarding the doctoral process, research and dissertation tips.

Teaching in Purple is presented by the College of Education. This blog provides inspiration for those who have a passion for teaching.

Letters, Numbers, Minds and Voices, presented by the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, reflects on the diversity of GCU’s programs of study and inspires and challenges readers.

If you are passionate about nursing and healthcare, Health and Wellness with a Purpose, presented by the College of Nursing and Health Care Professions, provides perspectives on current healthcare topics, trends and GCU’s dynamic degree programs.

Last but not least, Living Faith, presented by the College of Theology, and Rooted, presented by the Department of Spiritual Life, offer valuable insight about how to grow in your Christian faith.

Overall, the GCU Blogs Network would like to thank all of our contributors and readers who have helped the blogs to become successful. We are excited to continue creating content for the upcoming year! Have a wonderful New Year, and we will see you in 2017!
