Weekly Devotional: When You’re Down, God Will Pick You Up

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.” – Psalm 46:1-3

Some days we feel like we are carrying the weight of the world on our shoulders. Life starts to feel like it is kicking us around. We are overwhelmed with school and work and all of our responsibilities that we cannot seem to catch our breath. It is important to take a minute, reflect on everything you are stressed about and just give it all to God. Let him know what you are worried about and what you are struggling with and ask him for help.

Life is Hard

There will be times in our life where we will struggle. We have moments that are hard to get through and we do not know why God puts us through the difficult times. Life is not easy to get through. We have to work hard for our success and for the things that we want. God puts us through the difficult times to help teach us and help us grow. He would not put us through anything that he knows we cannot handle.

God Has a Plan

God has a plan for your life. He will not let you fail. He will help get you through everything that you cannot do alone. He will help you to succeed. God knows the desires of your heart. He hears you and wants to help you. He has your life planned out, we may not know what our lives will look like but he does.

Trust Him

Trust in God’s plan for you. Trust that he will help you and take care of you. No matter what you go through a trust that he will help you through it. Trust that he will carry out his plans and that his will, will be done. That is usually easier said than done. It is in our human nature to want things to go our way, and God’s plan may be completely different from our own and it can be hard to trust him when we are wanting things to go our way.

Give Him Your Problems and Anxiety

When you are stressed and overwhelmed, do not try to fix your problems on your own. Give it all to God, no matter what it is, whether it is big or small, he will help you take care of it. We all have stress and anxiety and we can’t handle it on our own. Give all of your problems to him and he will help you through it all.

He Is Bigger Than Your Problems

God can help you through all of your problems. He is your creator and he can help you through anything in life and anything that you go through. He is bigger than everything in life. He knows what is best for you and has a plan for you. It is best to trust that he will take care of you, especially in the hard times.
