Hinduism follows many different gods and goddesses. Buddhists don’t worship a specific god. Sikhs believe in one god who is not Jesus. Today, in America, almost 30% of adults don't believe in any god at all.1
The Christian faith stands upon the belief in one God who is the creator and master of all things. The characteristics of this God are different than other religions; however, these characteristics are the most important because they shape the Christian faith.
God did not create the world and leave the rest to us without Him. He desires to be involved in our lives and wants us to know Him. Because God is good, society has a sense of right and wrong. Because God is good, He sent Jesus to pay the price of our sins so we could be saved. Because God is good, we have hope in spending eternity with the creator of the universe.
Aren’t we lucky to have such a powerful and loving God who desires to know us? Spend some time in prayer today, thanking Him for His forgiveness and loving persona.
His Love is Unconditional

“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”
— Genesis 1:1 NIV
The God of the Christian faith is almighty over the whole universe. He created everything and is so much more powerful and omnipotent than anything we could ever imagine. God is the one who made the heavens and the earth; therefore, He existed before anything. Christians worship God, who consists of God, Jesus and the holy spirit (the Trinity).
What makes Christianity different from other religions isn’t only that we worship one god rather than many; we worship a personal god. Religions with a deistic view, such as Hinduism, believe that there is an ultimate higher power, but that power is distant and unconnected to its creation.
Christians believe God intervenes with His creation and has personal relationships with people. This means God is not distant, but involved in our lives.
There is much more to learn about who God is beyond being just good and kind. God is so powerful that He is ultimately incomprehensible to our minds, but the Bible gives us insight into the character of God through scripture and through the life of Jesus.
