Dean of the College of Nursing and Health Professions Melanie Logue, PhD, DNP, APRN, CFNP, FAANP, has been appointed to the Arizona State Board of Nursing by Governor Doug Ducey. Dr. Logue will serve a five-year term, which aligns with her commitment to serve the public. Congratulations, Dr. Logue!
We are proud of the College of Nursing and Health Care Professions' faculty members who have been nominated for Nurse of the Year Awards. Congratulations to Kristen Bright, Tammy Hostetler, Sheri Spicer and Anne Wendt.
Doris Lovata was awarded the Senior Faculty Award by graduating seniors. Congratulations, Doris!
Amador Ortega, Jr. received an internship at Camelback Post-Acute Care and Rehabilitation Center in Phoenix. He is working 40 hours weekly with Administrator Nigel Santiago. Congratulations, Amador!
Deidre Martinez, was named the Outstanding Nursing Student by the New Mexico Center for Nursing Excellence. Congratulations, Deidre!
Anne Wendt, a nursing faculty member, was recognized with the Daisy Award for Extraordinary Nurses during the non-traditional commencement ceremony on Oct. 25. Congratulations, Anne!
Jennifer Brodie, family nurse practitioner and faculty member, volunteered to perform physicals for Special Olympic athletes. Thank you, Jennifer!
Congratulations to Maria Quimba, RN, MSN, MA, MBA; Vernon Thacker, PhD, MSN, RN; and Pascale Lee, MSHCA, for presenting their poster, "From the Bedside to the Classroom II: Empowering Practitioner Scholarships Through Acculturation and Fellowship" at the National League of Nursing Summit! GCU's scholars spoke with many attendees about the research.
