  • Law Enforcement Administration -
    Graduates of the Bachelor of Science in Law Enforcement Advancement program use managerial techniques to run a law enforcement organization effectively. Graduates will be able to:
    • Determine the appropriate skillset needed to fill a specific job role.
    • Apply research on Evidence Based Policing to develop a departmental initiative.
    • Create departmental vision and goals informed by data on community needs.
    • Develop a policy that addresses an issue while mitigating risk to the department, officers, and the public.
  • Public Engagement -
    Graduates of the Bachelor of Science in Law Enforcement Advancement program work with their communities to fulfill the law enforcement needs and produce positive relationships with the public. Graduates will be able to:
    • Recommend strategies to reduce the effects of crime among vulnerable populations.
    • Create a plan to address community needs that incorporates multiple community stakeholders.
    • Develop strategies to build relationships with multi-cultural community members and create a climate of trust between the community and law enforcement.
  • Law Enforcement Communication -
    Graduates of the Bachelor of Science in Law Enforcement Advancement program develop written and verbal communication skills so they can effectively communicate to the public and internal law enforcement stakeholders. Graduates will be able to:
    • Develop plans to promote a positive image of an agency by aligning community outreach efforts and internal culture.
    • Use effective information gathering techniques in a law enforcement setting.
    • Write professional internal law enforcement communications succinctly and precisely.
    • Convey messages clearly and confidently through oral presentation.
  • Ethical Servant Leadership -
    Graduates of the Bachelor of Science in Law Enforcement Advancement program use ethical principles to build and maintain ethics driven law enforcement organizations. Graduates will be able to:
    • Apply principles of Christian Ethics to a law enforcement setting.
    • Develop a policy that defines codes of conduct that reflect an agency's guiding principles.
    • Create a strategy to instill a culture of ethical behavior in a law enforcement agency.
    • Develop techniques for creating a culture of accountability through consistent, fair, and transparent reviews of departmental conduct.
