Graduates of the Master of Arts in History with an Emphasis in Education will be able to demonstrate comprehension of the way history is taught at the baccalaureate level. Graduates will be able to:

• Analyze strategies to effectively collaborate on curriculum design with various stakeholders.
• Align academic standards to objectives and assessments in a syllabus.
• Evaluate the use of various adult learning theories in various classroom modalities.
• Recommend best practices in incorporating technology in a in various classroom modalities.

Historical Skills -
Graduates of the Master of Arts in History with an Emphasis in Education will be able to demonstrate research and writing at the graduate level. Graduates will be able to:

• Compile research of valid primary and secondary sources for graduate level projects through the use of academic research methods and tools.
• Evaluate research to determine validity, bias, and significance appropriate for academic, peer-review publication.
• Prepare graduate level academic writing projects that may include, papers, presentations, reports, theses, or other works appropriate for academic, peer-review publication.

Historical Events and Themes -
Graduates of the Master of Arts in History with an Emphasis in Education will be able to demonstrate comprehension of major historical events and themes across European, American, Asian, and world civilizations. Graduates will be able to:

• Analyze key facts (dates, individuals, places) associated with historical events and their significance.
• Evaluate the political, economic, or military history of nations, regions, or societies.
• Evaluate cultural development in history including social, intellectual, or religious themes of various peoples, regions, societies, or periods.
• Explain the role of Christianity, or Christians, in the development, or outcomes, of major historical events.

Historical Narrative and Argument -
Graduates of the Master of Arts in History with an Emphasis in Education will be able to demonstrate narrative and argument within the context of history. Graduates will be able to:

• Construct historical narratives using primary and secondary sources appropriate for academic, peer-review publication.
• Construct historical arguments using historiography and historical research sources appropriate for academic, peer-review publication.

Historiography -
Graduates of the Master of Arts in History with an Emphasis in Education will be able to demonstrate comprehension of the way that history has been written and interpreted over time. Graduates will be able to:

• Evaluate how historical interpretations are used to analyze historical events and themes.
