  1. Software Engineering Best Practices -
    • Explain the role and impact of software engineering in contemporary business, global, economic, environmental, and societal context.
    • Utilize software engineering principles to design database storage and systems architecture in software development.
    • Develop working versions of software projects, creating artifacts and code for each phase of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  2. Process Assessment/Appraisal -
    • Produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare by utilizing the techniques, skills, and modern software engineering tools within the scope of the SDLC process.
    • Analyze, design, and manage the development of a computing-based system, component or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints in one or more application domains
    • Identify and apply appropriate SDLC techniques, testing models, processes and practices appropriate for the software development of a project.
  3. Critical Thinking and Problem Solving -
    • Analyze, evaluate and synthesize information as well as generate and apply appropriate solutions to solve problems based on reasoned rationale.
    • Identify and analyze contemporary issues for engineering better software performance.
  4. Communication - Graduates of Grand Canyon University’s Bachelor of Science in Health Care Administration program will be able to demonstrate effective communication skills critical to the development and maintenance of internal and external relationships utilizing communication theory, tools and technologies proven most effective for the situation and organization.
    • Present ideas in a logical framework in a variety of forms with proper language structure and mechanics.
    • Identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems by communicating effectively with a range of audiences through professional oral and written skills
    • Make informed judgments by recognizing ethical and professional responsibilities in software engineering situations
  5. Collaboration and Leadership -
    • Demonstrate sound software engineering judgment to draw conclusions by articulating the knowledge of contemporary issues to achieve team’s goals and purposes.
    • Establish goals, plan tasks, and meet objectives by leading and working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
