Research Interests
  • Creative Tools and Equitable Pedagogy Creative modes and teaching praxis that drives inclusive movement generation, in real-time composition and set movement material.
  • Dance Technology with on the body sensor exploration. Discovering new ways wearable musical instruments can inform ensemble experience and improvised events, as well as rhythm analysis. This is an ongoing research project with Dr.Seth Thorn.
  • Somatics, body awareness and well-being. Somatic approaches to movement ranging from minimal to virtuosic and selfcare through the experience of contemporary movement forms and bodywork.
  • Placemaking. I research placemaking through the act of doing it. I practice placemaking through community experiences in public spaces, in person or digital platforms. I facilitate creative planning for a culminating arts events, site-specific movement performances and cultivate friendships with residents and community members by telling their stories and spearheading community placemaking.
