THE OFFICE OF STUDENT ENGAGEMENT
The Office of Student Engagement is home to several important groups and departments on campus, including clubs, intramurals, commuter life, the Associated Students of Grand Canyon University (ASGCU) and more. Our goal is to help you make the most of your time on campus and immerse yourself in the full college experience.
During your time at Grand Canyon University (GCU), you will discover your purpose, develop your gifts and deploy your service. The Canyon Activities Board (CAB) plans most of the events and activities throughout the year to help you get involved, make new friends and get to know the GCU campus community. We are focused on one thing - we turn students into Lopes for life!
Intramurals are your opportunity to build relationships and experience fellowship through sports! We strive to build and operate a program that promotes community on campus, but most importantly brings glory to God. We offer three different divisions so that you can participate, regardless of your skill level: competitive, recreational and coed.

Interested in getting involved on campus? We have plenty of events to help you get to know future Lopes and explore our campus community. Take a look at our calendar of events for more information.
Welcome Week is one of our biggest events of the year! Welcome Week is all about starting a new journey and getting to know campus, meeting new friends and learning what it means to be a GCU Lope. Do not miss out on any of the action. www.gcu.edu/welcomeweek
ASGCU is GCU's student government, representing and serving the student body in pursuit of academic success, personal excellence and spirituality. Through representation and a variety of programs, events, services and outreach opportunities, ASGCU's central focus is to build community and help you feel connected on GCU's campus.
Within ASGCU, there are multiple teams that support and lead the GCU student community. Leadership is broken down into the executive board and the president's cabinet. The senate collectively represent the traditional student voice on campus. Other teams include the public relations team, the communications team, clubs and organizations team and the Freshman Class Council. If you are a freshman here at GCU, we encourage you to get involved by joining the Freshman Class Council, representing your fellow students and letting your voice be heard.
GCU Veterans Center
GCU's Veterans Center provides resident, commuter and online military students with personalized assistance tailored to veterans. The Veterans Center is a hub for GCU student veterans and their families to network and study. The center is staffed with a veterans resource coordinator who can assist you with questions or concerns about your military education benefits. You will also have access to Wi-Fi and a textbook exchange. Our objective is to link you with the resources you need to meet your academic goals. Explore our Veterans Center to learn more.
Commuters make up a large portion of our vibrant campus community. As a commuter, you can still enjoy many of the features and benefits of our campus, including student-only events on campus, special commuter events and more.
*Online students are not eligible
As a commuter, you still have access to the facilities on GCU's campus, including our state-of-the-art fitness centers, resort-style swimming pools and more. We are also pleased to offer a commuter lounge where you can relax between classes. Amenities include:
- Free lockers (first-come, first-served)
- Free commuter lunches, brunches and giveaways
Life Leaders and Life Groups
Life Leaders hold weekly Bible studies, called Life Groups, and intentionally provide Christian leadership that is focused on building relationships. The Department of Spiritual Life is pleased to host Life Groups especially for commuter students.
