GCU’s health science degree was designed for EMT’s, respiratory therapists, radiology technicians, lab technicians, phlebotomists, diagnostic technicians, physical therapy assistants and other healthcare professionals to progress in their careers.
This degree program is highly specialized and developed to help individuals attain their career goals. Emphasis is placed on current issues and developing trends that affect healthcare professionals. At the end of the program, when completing their capstone course, students have the opportunity to identify and research a topic that is relevant to them and can be applied to their current jobs.
Throughout their time in the program, students explore the latest patient care theories and are prepared in interdisciplinary healthcare to address a changing healthcare system, the scope and importance of risk management in healthcare settings, analysis of statistics and statistical methods that apply to healthcare, the impact of professional and societal forces on healthcare policy and practice and learn how to apply research practices.
