Welcome back, College of Nursing and Health Care Professions students!
The fall term is off to a great start, and we are very excited for this 2015-16 school year. I wanted to take a brief moment to share with you some research that we have been focusing on in the college for well over a year now.
Vernon Thacker, PhD, and I have developed a faculty mentorship/fellowship to bring together faculty within Grand Canyon University’s College of Nursing and Health Care Professions who have very different backgrounds and degrees and who teach in different modalities, including campus, online and cohort.
The reason that we are sharing this information with you is that we have seen the positive impact that this has made on a number of faculty within the college. When a group of medical professionals with different backgrounds and skillsets get together and work as one, we are simply unstoppable!
Now it’s time to start focusing on the development of a similar program with our students. The discussion has begun around how we would like to do this. We want to make it fun and exciting for you!
Right now, we are discussing Jeopardy playoffs between degree programs, bowling leagues and other fun events.
