Faith is often described as a seed, something small in nature but full of potential. But for a seed to grow, it needs to be nurtured, watered and in the right environment. Let’s explore how we can grow our faith in Jesus and plant more seeds.
Letting God Lead with Growth
So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. — Colossians 2:6-7, NIV
Whether you’re starting your walk with Christ or have been on the journey for years, growing our faith is a lifelong process. It’s a process focused on progress, not perfection. We will never be perfect and will always be bound to sin, but Jesus sets us free and forgives us.
Growth comes from consistent connection. When we try to grow our faith, it requires attention, intention, patience and nurturing. It is important to nourish your spirit and soul through the Bible, serving, praise and worship or prayer. We can do so much to connect with God and grow our faith. We can cultivate growth in our faith by letting go of control and bringing Jesus into our hearts.
