Biography
Dr. Heidi Boldway is the Assistant Dean of Humanities for the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and founding Director of GCU’s L.O.P.E.S. Academy (an immersive Christian university campus experience for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities focused on finding personal purpose through academic, social, and job skills development). Dr. Boldway earned a Doctor of Philosophy in General Psychology with an Emphasis in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. She also holds a Master of Education in Higher Ed Leadership and a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies with an Emphasis in Mathematics. Dr. Boldway’s research focus is military cultural competence in the college classroom and the neurodivergent college campus experience. Her passion is mentoring others to complete their program of study and being a cheerleader for individual academic and professional success. Prior to accepting the Assistant Dean position, Dr. Boldway’s professional focus was technology. She worked for the United States Navy as a civilian contractor with a concentration in anti-submarine warfare, installed and maintained large-business telephone systems, and repaired computers. Dr. Boldway has dedicated the second half of her career working to provide the best possible academic experience for faculty and students. Her mottos include, “never say no to learning something new, even if it isn’t in your job description,” “treat your studies like you would your full-time dream job,” and “the decisions you make dictate the life you lead."
