I have a PhD in Psychology from Capella University, a Master of Education in Community Counseling from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, and a Bachelor of Arts from Lindenwood University. I also have an Illinois Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a Nationally Certified Counselor. I have taught a variety of associate, undergraduate and graduate psychology and counseling courses since 2001. Some of the subjects include courses like: Introductory Psychology, Child Psychology, Adolescent Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Social Psychology, Physiological, Psychology, Personality Psychology and Introduction to Counseling, Developmental Disabilities & Special Education, Behavior Modification, Group Dynamics, Marriage & Family, Diagnostics, Assessment and Treatment in Counseling, Spousal and Family Trauma and Abuse, and Organizational Psychology, even courses in Professional Life Coaching. As for professional field experience, I have 20 years of experience working in the behavioral health field in the areas of substance abuse, crisis counseling, mental health counseling, youth services, supported employment, and psychiatric rehabilitation. I’ve also consulted for other agencies that were preparing for accreditation. During that time, I moved from an individual and group therapist to a Psychosocial Rehabilitation Manager, then a Compliance Officer, and finally retired as a Director of Behavioral Health. Currently, I’ve achieved certification in professional life coaching. I continue to teach as an independent consultant for several universities.
