Biography
I am a National Board-Certified Teacher licensed in Business and Information Technology, Curriculum Instruction and Administration in North Carolina and Virginia, with 26 years serving in Middle Grades Career and Technical Education, 22 years serving as an online graduate instructor and university supervisor and 12 years serving as an adjunct instructor in a local business college. I recently retired from Rockingham County Schools, NC, having taught Career and Technical Education at Holmes Middle School in Eden, NC, for 25 years and was an adjunct faculty member of American National University for 12 years prior to my tenure with GCU. I came into public education after a successful 15-year industrial management career in both the manufacturing and service sectors. If I add together all of my teaching experience, I have been in front of some type of classroom for almost 52 years! At HMS I served served, as chair of the SACS Committee, Webmaster, Yearbook Editor, CTE Department Chair, Elective Department Chair, member of the School Improvement, School Leadership and Crisis Intervention Response Teams and have coached both middle school Golf and Girls’ Basketball and high school Swim. I am currently the GOTEC/Technology Education teacher at Westwood Middle School in Danville, VA.
