Biography
Kathryn "Sky" Tomlinson's background is in Community Media, teaching citizens how to use digital technology to become active producers versus passive consumers of information in Dallas, Texas and Fayetteville, Arkansas. Earning a BA in Radio/Television from the University of Texas at Arlington, she developed and taught curriculum in the Music and Video Business program at the Art Institute of Dallas and has produced award-winning videos and television programs.
Dr. Sky earned an MS in Instructional Design Technology from Walden University to keep up with the blistering pace of technology integration in teaching and learning. She completed her dissertation, entitled "Understanding Instructional Needs of Entrepreneurs Learning Social Media Marketing", to obtain a PhD in Education Technology and Human Sciences with a specialization in Learning, Instruction, & Innovation. She is a champion of technology advancements in the educational and corporate sectors with 15+ years of experience delivering high-impact programs and strategies to enhance student and organizational effectiveness. Exceptional people skills with rare ability to connect with students and businesses alike to drive educational, marketing and performance development initiatives. Expert with e-learning, curriculum development, social media, digital literacy, and nonprofit fundraising.
Dr. Sky enjoys volunteering in her community and serves on the Board of Directors for various non-profit service organizations. She also enjoys dancing, hiking, eating healthily and helping her husband with their garden. She serves as Nursery Leader, Teacher and Social Media Director at her local Church Ward in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
