Biography
Dr. Laura Boesken is an experienced nurse educator and clinician with more than a decade of practice in psychiatric and mental health nursing, nursing education, and evidence-based practice. She currently serves as an Assistant Professor at Northern Kentucky University and as Adjunct Faculty at Grand Canyon University and Arizona College of Nursing, teaching across undergraduate and graduate programs in mental health, capstone, simulation, health assessment, and professional practice. Her academic preparation includes a Doctor of Nursing Practice in Population Health and a Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in education, reflecting her strong foundation in curriculum design, program evaluation, and student mentorship. Dr. Boesken’s professional contributions extend beyond the classroom through leadership in curriculum committees, program evaluation, and faculty governance, as well as scholarship focused on student well-being and relationship-based care. With extensive clinical experience in behavioral health, pediatrics, occupational health, and hospital systems, she brings real-world expertise to teaching and clinical supervision. Known for her structured feedback, evidence-based approach, and commitment to student success, Dr. Boesken integrates academic rigor with compassionate, learner-centered instruction to prepare nurses for safe, professional, and patient-focused practice.
