Biography
Lindsay Adams, M.S., CCC-SLP, currently serves as an Instructor in the Communication Sciences and Disorders program within the College of Nursing and Health Care Professions at Grand Canyon University. In this role, she teaches undergraduate students preparing to become Speech-Language Pathology Assistants and supports program development through course design and student leadership initiatives, including the co-advising of the Communication Sciences and Disorders Club.
With 13 years of clinical experience across major hospital systems, public schools, and outpatient therapy clinics, Mrs. Adams has cultivated a comprehensive understanding of the clinical and administrative dimensions of speech-language pathology. She previously served as Chief Operating Officer for one of Arizona’s largest pediatric therapy practices, where she oversaw both clinical and administrative teams and implemented systems that improved practice efficiency. Mrs. Adams also holds specialized training in dyslexia and executive function disorders and has presented on topics related to special education law and service delivery for diverse learners. She maintains national certification through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
Mrs. Adams earned an Associate of Arts degree in General Studies, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies – Speech Language Sciences and Technology. In 2016 she earned her Master of Science degree in Clinical Speech-Language Pathology and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education in Teaching and Learning with an emphasis in Adult Learning (qualitative). Her developing research interests focus on understanding the underlying attributes that support a successful transition from learner to professional practice within the field of Communication Sciences and Disorders or into a Master’s in Clinical Speech Language Pathology program. Her intention is to bridge the gap between academic preparation and clinical competence for emerging clinicians.
Looking ahead, Mrs. Adams seeks to advance higher education through continued innovation in curriculum design, faculty collaboration, and mentorship. She aspires to publish research that informs best practices for preparing students to transition into professional roles and to share her work through professional presentations. Ultimately, her goal is to foster educational environments that cultivate perseverance, professional readiness, and lifelong growth among future clinicians.
