Biography
Dr. Lori Wieters has been teaching at colleges and universities since 2000 -- shortly after she completed her Masters of Business Administration in Management in 1999. In 2007, Dr. Wieters received her Ph.D. in Organization and Management with a specialization in Human Resource Management. Dr. Wieters' dissertation centered around a validity study in a call-center using behavioral assessments as a predictor of retention. As an active member of the American Psychological Association and the Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychology, she is a certified Industrial and Organizational Psychologist who specializes in developing the human side of organizations. Dr. Wieters was employed with a health care organization in Phoenix as the Manager of Leadership Development until March of 2010. She left the organization to expand her own leadership development consulting company, Purposeful Leadership Consulting and to focus on teaching and researching activities. Currently, she is actively consulting for Predictive Group, an organization in Scottsdale, Arizona, that specializes in analyzing and deploying human workplace analytics and lifting organizational performance through the performance of the humans that interact in the workplace. Dr. Wieters' expertise in human assessments in the workplace keeps her busy as she actively works with organizational leaders, teams, and individuals. Besides health care, Dr. Wieters has worked in many industries and business arenas: financial services, city government, educational institutions, military, insurance, and a variety of small businesses. In February 2010, Dr. Wieters co-published a book titled “Triumphant Women - Stories of Courage: Volume One”. Lori considers her work with Triumphant Women as her passion project. The hope in writing this book is to connect women together around the world who have experienced similar circumstances. Personally, Dr. Wieters claims that she is a learning addict. She encourages her students to challenge the world around them and to leverage their intellectual curiosity as they explore new concepts, read new research and post responses to their fellow students. Dr. Wieters has been married for the last 24 years and has three grown children who are having families of their own.
