Biography
Melissa Hurst, MSP, MS, CCC-SLP, is a speech-language pathologist and instructor in the Speech-Language Pathology Master of Science program with a passion for clinical education and student mentorship. She brings a diverse background with experience across medical and outpatient settings, primarily working with adult populations. Her clinical expertise includes neurological disorders, brain injury and stroke rehabilitation, with a particular focus on working with individuals with Parkinson’s disease. Melissa is certified in both LSVT LOUD and SPEAK OUT, evidence-based voice therapy programs for people with Parkinson’s. She is currently preparing to begin her doctorate, reflecting her deep commitment to lifelong learning. In addition to her clinical work, she has contributed to curriculum development as a subject matter expert and has supervised students and early-career clinicians. She values collaboration, critical thinking, and inclusive, student-centered learning environments.
