Kennedy Lane is a Senior at Grand Canyon University and currently studying professional writing with a minor in business. She aspires to combine her love for writing and editing into a job in the journalism or publishing industry. Spotlight Questions:
I grew up in Flagstaff Arizona, which is located in Northern Arizona, about two hours north of GCU. Although I lived in Arizona, the climate is very different and a lot colder than Phoenix. I decided it was time for me to leave that small town and move to the city. I visited GCU before graduating high school and fell in love with the campus and the GCU culture.

My favorite thing about GCU is the environment. It is so amazing to be surrounded by people your same age who share the same beliefs and values as you. GCU being a Christian school has helped me grow in my faith and in my relationship with God and with others. Everyone has so much school spirit and to see that across campus, especially on game days is so much fun.

My advice for GCU students is to not be afraid to put yourself out there and take risks. Go after what you want. Get involved on campus, meet new people and make new friends. It can be scary to put yourself out there, but you never know what the outcome could lead to.
