Finding Tatum’s Purpose: Exploring Phoenix

There are so many cool places in Phoenix to explore without having to spend a lot of money! My younger sister and I recently went on an adventure and explored four spots close to GCU, all for under $50!

Zia Records

Our adventure started at Zia Records – it has such a cool atmosphere. We looked at everything: books, movies, audio equipment, nick knacks and, of course, records!

Lux Coffee

After Zia, we went to Lux Coffee. Even though it’s a Phoenix hotspot, I’d never been before. It is such a great coffee shop. They have so many menu items beyond coffee and the food items range from breakfast and pastries to lunch and dinner, which made ordering quite difficult. But, because it was already late afternoon, I settled on a cupcake with glitter.

Super Saver Cinema

After our coffee shop trip, my sister and I went to the movies at Super Saver Cinema. What’s great about this movie theater is everything’s discounted and it plays movies that have just left theaters, but have not yet been released to video!

Scottsdale Art Museum

Our last stop of the day was the Scottsdale Art Museum. We looked at all of the pieces on display – some we were actually able to interact with! It was a fun experience and nice to wind down looking at art after our trip around town.

Overall, my experience was fantastic. I got to explore several new places, despite being an Arizona native. If you ever find yourself bored with nothing to do, check out one of these spots with some friends. I promise you won’t regret it!
