Exciting things have been happening at Grand Canyon University, as the Center for Worship Arts continues to grow and find success. Students who are passionate about worship can start their journey to becoming a worship leader at GCU. With all the Center for Worship Arts offers, students can make the most of their college experience and prepare for a fulfilling career that glorifies Christ.

The Recording Studio

The Grand Canyon University Recording Studio was designed to provide students, staff and artists with opportunities to create and share their love for music and the gospel. The goal of the studio is to provide an environment that fosters a Christ-centered community, inspiring the next generation of worship leaders. The studio gives students the opportunity to collaborate with others and creatively express and share their passion.

The Worship Arts Program

Due to the significant transformations in Christian worship, there is a need for a new kind of leader in the church. GCU has created degree programs for those who are interested in worship leadership, performance and production. In these programs, industry experts, instructors and seasoned worship ministers contribute to the learning experience of students. In addition, students can take advantage of all the recording studio has to offer.

GCU students can choose from several theology degrees to become a successful worship leader. For example, students who want to incorporate their passion for musical performance into their career as a worship leader can pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Worship Arts with an Emphasis in Worship Ministry

Recording with Rend Collective

The Center for Worship Arts provides many opportunities for students. Recently, worship arts students had the chance to assist Rend Collective, an Irish Christian worship band, with back-up vocals for their upcoming album. The GCU Recording Studio provided the perfect environment for students and the band to come together and creatively express their love for God.

According to Gareth Gilkeson of Rend Collective, the band wanted to come spend time with the students in order to pour into those who have the same passion for worship. He went on to say that giving students the opportunity to come learn about God, lead worship and serve the church is an amazing thing to pass on to generations.

The goal of recording with the students was to lift up the name of Jesus and capture a sense of friendship, family and community. The band said the studio is an amazing facility and a great resource for students.

Not only does the Center for Worship Arts provide an opportunity to showcase musical talent, but it is also a place where students can develop a strong theological foundation that is centered on learning who Jesus is and how to glorify Him. Ultimately, all of the art created in the studio points back to God. With a strong foundation rooted in Christ, the studio provides ways to express love for God and others.
