Every person needs to have experience to get somewhere in the corporate world these days. While the Bachelor of Arts in English with an Emphasis in Professional Writing major at GCU is fantastic, students may be lacking some practical skills that we can only learn while being “on the job.” But how do we find internships and opportunities?

Career IMPACT Center

Well, first off, if you haven’t checked out everything that the Career IMPACT Center has to offer, you’re missing out. They have a site called Career Connections that allows students to connect with employers all over the country. Career Connections gives full-time, part-time and internships opportunities.

With a few questions, the Career Connections tells whether you are qualified for the job or internship before you even look at the requirements! Don’t hesitate to contact the Career IMPACT Center for help on searching for jobs or internships. This is what they are paid to do! Their job is to help students find career opportunities.

Websites

There are other sites to consider on the internet. Many employers use them, and some are more popular than others. The only way to determine which one website you like, out of these and others, is to explore them yourself! Happy interning and job hunting!

  • Internships

This gives great lists of internships in the Phoenix area along with other states. It tells if the internship is paid or not, what kind of time it will require and a full description of the internship.

  • Simply Hired

This website is a good platform for all kinds of job opportunities and makes it very easy to find internships each season. The search ranges from Arizona in general to just the Phoenix area. For those searching to find internships while at GCU, searching for internships and part-time jobs in the Phoenix area is a great way to do it.

  • Indeed

Indeed is a great website for internships. There are so many that are posted because Indeed is a major posting area for jobs. It is available across the nation, so there are jobs in Phoenix and all different cities and states. With its popularity, Indeed has become a well-known website for both applicants and employers.

  • LinkedIn

LinkedIn is a good way to connect with others and has been popular for the past 3 years. What most people don’t know is that LinkedIn also has a section for jobs. New opportunities, including internships, can be emailed daily, if set up. The emails can always be stopped by turning them off in the sections.
