Ingram Honors College

If you are interested in joining the Ingram Honors College at Grand Canyon University, we invite you to apply. Your application will be reviewed holistically, based on both your academic achievements and your extracurricular involvements.

Admission

Admission Requirements

All students must complete the general admission application to GCU prior to starting the Ingram Honors College admission application. Select students are eligible to waive the secondary honors admission application and may choose to enroll as an honors student. All other students are eligible to apply for consideration. There is no additional program fee to join the Ingram Honors College.

Candidates applying for the Ingram Honors College must meet the following criteria:

Incoming Freshmen

Competency Requirements:

  • Admission into the university

Automatic Acceptance, No Secondary Application Required: 

  • Cumulative, unweighted high school GPA of 3.8 or greater
  • OR ACT composite score of 31 or greater
  • OR SAT score (combined verbal and math) of 1410 or greater
  • Demonstrated passion for community service and leadership 
Transfer Students

Competency Requirements:

  • Admission into the university
  • Earned a minimum of 24 or more college credits prior to seeking admission into the Ingram Honors College

Automatic Acceptance, No Secondary Application Required: 

  • Cumulative college GPA of 3.8 or greater
  • Actively enrolled in a college honors program or Phi Theta Kappa chapter
  • Demonstrated passion for community service and leadership

How To Apply

Interested in applying to the Ingram Honors College at GCU?  Speak with your university counselor to determine whether you meet the eligibility criteria or may qualify for automatic enrollment. As you explore the requirements, keep in mind that honors students complete two separate applications: one to the university to start or select their degree program, and a second, dedicated Ingram Honors College application to be considered for a seat in the honors community. Your counselor can help you navigate both steps and ensure you’re on the right path.

Scholarship Requirements

The Ingram Honors College Scholarship is awarded to high-achieving students who have demonstrated impressive academic achievement, expectational servant leadership and/or demonstrated a commitment to research and lifelong learning. This is a competitive, application-based selection process. Although multiple awards are available at varying amounts, the award is not guaranteed to those who meet the eligibility criteria. A secondary application is required to be considered.
