The Master of Business Administration (MBA) is a popular degree option for individuals who want to hone their skills as business leaders. However, those who want to take their career to the next level may want to consider advancing their education and earning a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA). A DBA degree is a widely respected credential. It demonstrates an exceptional commitment to personal growth and business proficiency. In fact, your DBA degree may open doors for you at the top of the corporate ladder.

Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Chief financial officers (CFOs) have significant responsibilities in any corporation. As a CFO, you will be in a top leadership position. One major job responsibility of CFOs is controllership duties, which involve the reporting and presenting of accurate financial information. Stakeholders rely on this information and make many important decisions based on it.

CFOs also hold treasury duties. They must weigh risk and liquidity, and debt and equity, and decide how to invest the company’s funds. CFOs are responsible for a company’s past, present and future finances.

A third major component of their job role is economic strategizing and forecasting.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

A DBA degree can set you on the path toward becoming the CEO of a major corporation. As a CEO, your primary responsibilities involve the planning, directing and coordinating the company’s operational activities to ensure it meets its goals. You will set crucial policies and engage in strategic planning to bolster the company’s financial growth.

Senior Managerial Consultant

Some individuals with DBAs decide to go into consulting work. As a senior managerial consultant, you might focus on private companies or public entities. Management consultants primarily identify obstacles to growth and establish ways of helping the organization improve performance and function. Organizations often need objective, third-party perspectives to figure out the best way of solving problems. Some of the tasks a senior managerial consultant might execute include:
