Performance psychology is much like industrial and organizational psychology, in that it is focused on improving employee performance. As you earn this performance psychology PhD, you will study theories of cognition, emotion and motivation to gain a better understanding of peak performance. Also, learners in this program will explore the psychology of leadership, foundations of performance and principles of behavior modification.
While completing this performance psychology PhD program, you will examine research-based, empirical approaches for understanding thought processes and the effects of individual behavior. Other topics covered in the program’s courses include improving learning and performance conditions; how mass communication impacts social awareness and control; and the dimensions that influence decision-making, information-processing and emotion regulation.
