“Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.” – 1 Corinthians 15:58

While in college, it can be easy to forget about spending time with Jesus in Bible study. We get busy with school, homework and even part-time jobs that we forget about things like church and put them on the backburner. Here are some different ways that you can spend time with God while in college.

Bible Journaling

If you are someone who likes to be creative by drawing and coloring, then you should start Bible journaling. Bible journaling is taking your bible and turning verses into colorful pictures to make them stand out on the page. It gives verses more meaning and draws more attention to them. This is a great way to connect with more verses and spend time with God. Grab some colored pencils and play some worship music in the background and spend time getting creative with your favorite verses.

Chapel

Chapel is a great way to spend time with Jesus. It allows you to start your week with inspiration and guidance from the Lord. It gives you hope and strength for the rest of your week. You get to spend time with other students in worship and listen to a message from local pastors. It is similar to a church service but takes place on a Monday morning when there aren’t any classes going on. This is a great opportunity to spend time with the Lord and hear amazing messages that help give you motivation through your college experience.

Worship Music

Simply listening to worship music is a great way to spend time with God. If you put on some worship music and just focus on listening to the lyrics and be present and intentional, you will be able to spend quality time with him and feel his presence. Worship music is a great way to connect with God and praise him and thank him for everything he has done and is doing in your life.

Podcasts

Podcasts are also a great way to get your daily dose of Jesus. There are a lot of podcasts out there that will help you through any situation that you are going through and give you godly guidance. Podcasts will help give you the church type messages through your phone or computer without you having to physically go to church. You can listen to them any time anywhere.

Staying connected to God can be difficult in your college years, but it is not impossible. Use these tools and set aside time throughout the week to intentionally spend with God.
