Stay and Play at the GCU Hotel and Golf Course!

The GCU Golf Course

Grand Canyon University offers so much more than a quality education. While the university strives to help its students find their purpose and prepare them to become global leaders who better their communities, its impact does not end there. GCU not only challenges its students to become Christian leaders in their fields, but the university itself has stepped up as a leader in the community as well. Most notably, GCU recently purchased, renovated and brought new life to two of West Phoenix’s businesses: the GCU Hotel and the GCU Golf Course.

Besides serving as learning platforms for students and employing local residents of the community, the new GCU Hotel and GCU Golf Course are ideal places to visit while enjoying Phoenix’s warm rays and bustling city life. The GCU Hotel is offering a special Stay and Play package, where guests who stay at the GCU Hotel will receive the employee discount at the GCU Golf Course!

Stay

The GCU Hotel is part of the university’s new office complex located on 27th Avenue and Camelback Road, off Interstate 17. The newly reimagined and renovated rooms contain first-rate bedding, lamps, décor, coffeemakers and copious amounts of purple touches for guests to enjoy.

General Manager Brett Cortright’s focus during the renovation was strictly on customer experience. Before its opening he said, “The thing that is really cool about creating a hotel from scratch is that we don’t have any boundaries – no restrictions, no requirements – so it’s all about the guest.”

This philosophy can be experienced in every aspect of the GCU Hotel, from your booking experience to dining at Canyon 49 Grill to swimming in the resort-style pool, making the hotel the perfect place for you to stay while visiting Phoenix!

Play

Located off 59th Avenue and Indian School Road, only three miles west of campus, the GCU Golf Course has become an attraction in the West Valley. The original course was built in 1961 and held in prized regard by many local golfers during its time. But after nearly 60 years, the course was in need of a makeover and GCU provided it just that!

The course was masterfully redesigned by renowned architect John Fought. Its mature, sweeping trees now stand proudly over lush, green fairways and new sandy bunkers. The grounds were also updated with a brand new 10,000-square-foot clubhouse that overlooks the course, making it a picturesque place to spend an afternoon. So whether you are a local resident or out-of-state vacationer, an avid golfer or a beginner, the GCU Golf Course has a unique experience waiting for you.

Grand Canyon University supports and empowers leaders to make a difference in their communities, and has modeled this for students by becoming an entrepreneurial servant leader in West Phoenix! Stay and Play today to experience all that these new enterprises have to offer!
