Are you interested in becoming a leader in the church? Individuals who are passionate about ministry can earn their Master of Divinity (MDiv) so that they can pursue ordination for professional ministry or lead ministry in local churches, Christian organizations and other ministerial settings.

In an MDiv program, students are exposed to religious inquiry, as well as biblical and theological study, in order to grow in their wisdom. They investigate the Christian faith and other various ideologies, and gain valuable insight in the areas of Christian ethics, preaching and apologetics.

In addition to earning a well-rounded theological education, students can choose an emphasis for their MDiv degree. In doing this, they can specialize in a particular area of study and become well-prepared for a career they are passionate about. At Grand Canyon University, students can choose an emphasis in global ministry or worship leadership.

Global Ministry

Individuals who earn a Master of Divinity with an Emphasis in Global Ministry develop the skills to serve in international and cross-cultural settings. Students in the program discover their purpose in ministry and can become ministry leaders through biblical and theological research. They learn about and investigate different religions of the world, and develop a framework for sustainable, diverse churches that carry out the mission of Jesus Christ. Students explore the great doctrines of Christian faith and how they can be applied to life and ministry.

Graduates of the program are equipped to serve across cultures and lead diverse groups as a spirit-filled minister. They are prepared to pursue ordination for professional ministry or lead ministry in a church, mission or cross-cultural ministry setting.

Worship Leadership

The Master of Divinity with an Emphasis in Worship Leadership program prepares individuals to lead worship with biblical wisdom. Those who are passionate about worship can enroll in this MDiv program in order to establish a strong biblical foundation by being exposed to a profound depth of biblical and theological study. Students learn to apply Scripture in the context of ministry, and reflect on the patterns of contemporary worship and praise. In addition, they learn about personal and corporate worship, and examine society’s impact on Christian worship. As a result, graduates possess a great understanding of the Word of God, and are prepared to pursue ordination or become a worship leader.

Pursing an MDiv allows individuals to incorporate their passion for the Christian faith in a career. In choosing an emphasis in global ministry or worship leadership, students will be prepared to make a positive impact for Christ in their ministry.
